Long before America was forced to work from home, one of America’s greatest authors was already doing it. Ernest Hemingway churned out Pulitzer prize winning novels from his living room, bedroom, dining room and loft spaces. He even wrote his first novel The Sun Also Rises while quarantined in France. Hemingway thrived in his home office environments. And now you can too. Ernest Hemingway’s first home is opening its doors to allow people to Work from Hemingway’s for a day. Write email masterpieces at his desk. Zoom your co-workers from his couch. Do inspiring research in his library. And when you’re ready for a work-day happy hour, enjoy Hemingway’s favorite cocktail at noon. (The same time he did.) The Hemingway Birthplace Museum can be your home office for a day.
Work From Hemingway’s/WFH is available to society level members only on as a once a year benefit on first-come, first-serve basis for the use of the Hemingway Birthplace for office hours on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, from 9am-4pm. Even if you only would like to use the space for a partial day, we still block out the whole day for you.

Work space is reserved for one-person only, per day.
Flexible hours, between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
Free wifi for your use.
All areas are cleaned at the end of each day to ensure everyone’s safety.
All reservations are subject to review and approval (availability, eligibility, etc). If you are an eligible foundation society level member, you can click the button below to request an office hours appointment date, your request will be reviewed and we will promptly respond to confirm or advise if additional information is needed. etc.
