Hemingway Foundation Gala-The Roaring Twenties
Oak Park Public Library
Saturday, May 19, 2018
The annual Hemingway Benefit, “The Roaring 20's Gala,” was held at the Oak Park Public Library.
We want to thank everyone for joining us in support of our mission and programming; and helping us recognize both our 2018 Hemingway Scholarship and Hemingway Shorts award recipients. We hope you enjoyed meeting Paula McLain and will likewise savor your signed copy of her new work.
The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park (EHFOP) fosters an understanding of the life and work of Ernest Hemingway, with emphasis on his Oak Park origins and impact on world literature. As such, we are dedicated to “thoughtful reading and writing”, offering a wide variety of programs that both nurture and encourage creative writing - for students and persons of all ages.
From our scholarship program, to our global search for exceptional writers through the Hemingway Shorts literary journal, to our writer in residence and other programming – we strive to educate, give, and learn. Our mission is both local and global in reaching a community of readers and authors from all over the world who are brought together by Hemingway’s literary legacy.
The net event proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission programs including our Hemingway Foundation Scholarship Fund.
